Minerva is a craft, fashion, textile and quilter's bookshop located in Cuba Street, Wellington.


Hooray! Once again we are at Level 1. We are open weekdays and Saturdays 10am-4pm, Sundays 11am-4pm.


We have secured copies of Selvedge issue 94 and the Australian Artwear publications Felt issue 23, Embellish issue 42 and Textile Fibre Forum issue 138. We also have a few copies of Quiltmania issue 137  and Simnply Vintage issue 35 - neither of these reached NZ during lockdown.

We have sold out of Simply Moderne issue 20, but have a few copies of issue 19 of Simply Moderne in store. For knitters, we have the brand new japanese book Epistemiology and plenty of issues of the lovely Finnish knitting magazine Laine. making issue 10 is due late October and we are taking orders for this now.


We also received the French publisher Quiltmania's latest offerings. Their new book The Story of a Re-Birth has lots of glorious ideas for those fond of using recycled textiles written by the winner of the prestigious Grand Prix at the Tokyo Quilt Festival in 2012. We also refreshed our stocks of Seams Like Yesterday and Rachael Daisy's latest book Whizz Bang. For Japanese magic, check out Pieces of my Life - an exquisite collection of indigo pieced quilts from this master. And for medallion style quilts inspired by antique quilts, Susan Smith's Quilts: Somewhere in the Middle has 16 patterns - something for all tastes.

Textile Fibre Forum


Excellent profiles in this issue include British artist Stewart Kelly, Australian artist Julie Haddrick and a peek at this year's Art Quilt Australia.
